Hummingbird for Mumms Software

Servant-leader to a team of developers responsible for:

• Decomposing the monolith into domain-driven microservices, e.g. billing, reports etc.; reduced lead time for changes by 50% and increased deployment frequency to twice a day.

• Event-driven microservices for change data capture from clinical & operations applications; helps end-users avoid double entry, eliminating user error.

• Pivoting strategy for patient fact sheet & billing report generation, reducing times from hours to minutes

Amongst other responsibilities were collaborating with other dev teams & helping them with architectural reviews, design discussions & code reviews.

FOSS Development & Architecture

• As a Developer Advocate, I helped teams move away from closed-source application servers towards open-source application/web servers, like Wildfly & Tomcat. Over 2 years, we were able to reduce license & support costs by 20x, while at the same time better utilising hardware & reducing resource consumption by ~2x.

• Developer upskilling through trainings & workshops was a major part of our mission statement. Just moving people onto a new platform/server is a job half done, unless they're self-reliant in all aspects, like development & ops.

Repair Expert (Rx)

• Designed trouble ticketing system for customer troubleshooting application. Powered by Drools, the troubleshooting flows were represented as business process flows, giving users a way to visualize the ticketing process.
• Extended Eclipse to give business users the capability to edit troubleshooting flows, capability to hot deploy, dark launch & version control flows.

SSI Workflow for Verizon Voicewing

• Developed ordering workflow for Verizon Voicewing & endpoints consumed by verizon.com

• Integrated workflow with E911 services (Intrado), provisioning systems & credit card billing systems.
